Eight Simple Ways to Support HEAV Every Day

Most of these are also great ways for family, friends, and neighbors to help support homeschooling.

“After booking flights through Travelocity for more than five years, last month I decided to try EduTravel. I compared the two sites and was pleasantly surprised to find I could get the exact same flight and price! It is so nice to know EduTravel will offer my family the best deals while benefiting HEAV!” —Linda Linder of Manassas

"I booked my first flight on EduTravel and found a lower fare than was shown on the other search engines. It turns out EduTravel will automatically let you know if a lower fare is available for another travel time or day—a great money-saving feature that avoids having to spend huge amounts of time seaching for the lowest fare!" —Anne Miller, president of HEAV

1) SHOP AT FOOD LION/BOTTOM DOLLAR/BLOOM/UKROP

Plus, join through our website or write "Affiliate 2294016" in the space marked "Other" on Section 2, Question B (the question labeled "I received this application from"), and HEAV will also benefit. Joining HSLDA is a great way to support homeschooling freedoms and homeschooling in Virginia at the same time! Click here for more information.

4) SEARCH THE WEB USING GOOD SEARCH
How would you like to support homeschooling while you search the web? Well, now you can!

GoodSearch.com is a new search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. You use it just as you would any search engine, and it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter "Home Educators Association of Virginia" (typing in HEAV should bring up the organization as well) as the charity you want to support. Just 500 people searching four times a day will raise about $7,300 in a year without anyone spending a dime!

5) BOOK TICKETS AND HOTELS THROUGH EDUTRAVEL
Next time you're in need of airplane tickets or a rental car, or will be booking hotel rooms in advance, visit www.edutravel.org. The rates are competitive with other super-saver travel sites, and by purchasing your tickets through EduTravel, you're benefiting HEAV with 40% of the travel comissions!

6) RECYCLE YOUR INK CARTRIDGES
It's simple! Just collect all your used ink cartridges (and those from your family, friends, and neighbors) and drop them off at the next HEAV function you attend. For more information on how you or your business can help, click here, or e-mail rebekah@heav.org.
