HARRIS IS WITH JESUS * October 17, 1954 -
July 4, 2010
This
past Sunday, July 4, Sono Harris went to be with the Lord. And while we
rejoice that Sono is in the presence of Jesus, we grieve with Gregg and
his family for their unfathomable loss, and we pray they would feel the
Lord's moment-by-moment presence and comfort both now and in the days
ahead.
Gregg and Sono were homeschool pioneers back in the early
'80s, and Gregg's Christian Life Workshops taught and encouraged
hundreds of thousands of homeschool moms and dads at a time when there
was no Internet and very little in the way of curriculum or printed
materials.
Gregg
has expressed appreciation for the
love, prayers, and support his family has received and has extended an
open invitation to Sono's memorial service
this Saturday, July 10, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the Good Shepherd
Community Church in Boring, Oregon (503-663-5280; www.goodshepherdcc.org).
Please
join us in praying for Gregg and his family, and, if you
desire to help them out in a practical way--which is needful at this
time--you
can send cards, notes, and financial gifts directly to
their home:

Financial gifts can also be
sent via PayPal to either NobleInstitute.email@gmail.com
(tax-deductible) or GreggEHarris@gmail.com (non-tax-deductible).

THOUGHT
FOR THE WEEK
Bored? Has
your child ever told you, "I'm bored. There's
nothing to do"? Summertime, especially, can be an open door for
boredom. Yet
there is always plenty to do if we're only willing--a new thing to learn
or
explore, a house or room (or drawer) to clean or organize, a neighbor or
friend
we could bless. Let's encourage our children (and ourselves) to cure
boredom by
looking for ways to serve and grow.

Parting Thought - Children and Eternity Some would gather
money Along the path of life. Some would gather roses And rest
from earthly strife. But I would gather children From among the
thorns of sin; I would seek a golden curl And a freckled,
toothless grin. For money cannot enter Into the land of endless
day, And roses that are gathered Soon will wilt along the way, But
oh, the laughing children, As I cross the sunset sea, And the
gates swing wide to heaven I can take them in with me. -
