Always Learning
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Always Learning
When we think of school, we tend to think of the time we spend learning academics. But in reality, our children are always learning! At the grocery store, at the bank, while playing with others, while listening to our conversations--the learning never stops! The question is not whether they are learning, but what they are learning? What patterns are they seeing modeled in us?

Having Our Father's
Heart Towards Training Our ChildrenHaving Our Father's Heart Towards Training Our Children
Richmond - Thursday, March 25
When tackling the added responsibilities of schooling our children at home, we must be careful to not neglect the first command given to parents: to TRAIN our children in the way they should go. For parents with young children, this means a fine balance between training them to right behavior and a love for God, and discipline and correction. It also involves dealing with some of the obstacles that may arise as we try to teach with little ones under foot. Obstacles such as time to get chores done, devote to your husband, teach, and rest!!!

During this seminar, you will find the courage to home educate by discovering how to take one day at a time, one goal at a time, and one area of training at a time. Kerin Morgan will share obstacles to training, common mistakes, and some important goals. She will share some practical steps in training with our Heavenly Father's heart while still homeschooling the older children!!! Learn more and register online.

4) Parting Thought - Prayer of St. Patrick
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ at my right, Christ at my left,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

- From the "Breastplate of St. Patrick." There are several versions of the poem. Read one of them, which has been set to music, here.

5) Worth Repeating
"The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions at state expense."
- Friedrich Engels, (1820-1895) German political theorist and father of communist theory, co-author of Communist Manifesto. Some attribute the quote to the Manifesto's co-author, Karl Marx.
