WANT TO HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE? Would you like to be a part of supporting and nurturing families? Changing lives? And blessing others?
Join HEAV!
In these challenging times, more and more families are making the commitment to teach and train their children at home. Some begin through conviction; others through necessity and painful experiences.
Whatever the circumstances, your membership and support has ensured there is an HEAV to provide support and assistance to those just starting out, as well as to those just considering home education.
Every year, we have the joy of watching families be
encouraged and transformed through the information and resources
presented at our convention and seminars, on the HEAV website, and
through our counseling services and other offerings and events.
Your help has also enabled HEAV to work year 'round to protect our homeschooling freedoms from intrusive government regulation.
What You Give... Just $35 a year!
What You Get... A Membership That Makes a Difference in the Lives of Families All Over Virginia The greatest benefits are the ones that cannot be quantified in
dollars and cents--they include the satisfaction of knowing you've made a difference in the lives of families for generations to come and helped to keep home education laws and regulations to a minimum in the Commonwealth.
And while there are tangible benefits that come with your HEAV membership, they are just a small way of saying
"thank you" for helping us do what we do, day in and day out, to support and equip homeschooling families across the state.
Your member benefits include reduced admission to many HEAV events, discounts on products and services, and a free ad in the Virginia Home Educator magazine (a $100 value). Please take a look!
Here's what others have had to say about HEAV's...
...Convention As always....the convention was awesome and EXACTLY what my empty cup needed! God bless each and every one of you!!! ~ Misti Procious ...Homeschool Success Seminars "I attended the 'How to Get Started' workshop yesterday, and although I filled out the questionnaire afterward, I don't think I fully expressed how much I enjoyed the seminar and how thankful I am that I went.... Thank you for offering these services." ~ K. Stewart ...Newsletters I just wanted to say that I greatly enjoy your newsletters. The verses are encouraging and strengthening to me; the quotes are interesting and challenging; the links are interesting; and the cartoons always make me laugh because I can relate to them so well. Thanks for all the work you put into supporting and encouraging homeschoolers throughout Virginia. I'm so thankful that God has led us here, for we've had the best support in homeschooling our children. ~ Tricia LaRocque ...Day at the Capitol Program Thank you for all your work to make the Day at the Capitol available to homeschoolers. It was a wonderful experience to learn about our state government at the state capitol, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so. I am nearly seventeen and a junior in high school. ~ Rachel Guanzier ...Legislative "Watch Dogging" and Initiatives Thanks for working on all of the legislative issues. We homeschool parents are fortunate to have dedicated and hard-working people watching things that we would rarely see or notice ourselves. ~ Rebekah DeRoco Thank You for Making a Difference! To all our members out there, thank you! We couldn't do what we do without you! Not a Member? Join today! Your membership makes a BIG difference. For just $35 a year, you can help us continue to support, encourage, and equip families to teach and train their children at home. LAST WEEK TO SAVE! OCTOBER'S TOP PICK - FREE SHIPPING! THE HOMESCHOOLER'S GUIDE TO.... By Vicki Caruana Reviewed by Linda Trumbo, homeschool mother of five and past publisher of the "How to Homeschool Newsletter." "This unique book is for folks who are looking for more than just basic schooling information. Mrs. Caruana has collected a number of articles (chapters) on a variety of topics ranging from testing to home-based business. Some of the chapters are written by her; other chapters are from fellow homeschoolers who have expertise and experience in particular areas." Voted as one of the best 10 books on homeschooling by Homeschool.com's product testers! Read the rest of the review and order your copy today! ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ H1N1 Influenza Vaccine for Homeschoolers As the H1N1 vaccine* is arriving at pubic schools for distribution
to students, some homeschool parents are asking if their children can
also receive the free vaccine from a public school. Many private and
homeschooled students have reported being unable to receive the
vaccine, while a limited number of other parents have had no problem. See HEAV's Virginia Homeschool Blog for more details.
*Important Note: Vaccinations are a
controversial issue. Because homeschoolers fall within the target
at-risk group for H1N1 influenza, HEAV is requesting information
regarding equal access to the vaccine for homeschoolers. HEAV does not
recommend or endorse any vaccine. Vaccination decisions are the
responsibility of the parent.
