~:~ Continued Prayers Appreciated...and a New Prayer Request Thank you all for your prayers for Chris Klicka and Vickie Farris. We haven't received any more updates, but will let you know when we do.
If
you haven't seen it yet, take a look at this powerful video of Chris as
he shares portions of his story. We hope you'll be as blessed as we
were!
We would also like to add a prayer request for George and Yvonne Bunn. George has a
VTE (deep-vein thrombosis) and has been sent home and put on bed rest for the next seven days. Yvonne has to give him
abdominal shots twice a day, and would greatly appreciate your prayers for both of them during this time.

~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ ~:~ Homeschool Video on CitizenLink CitizenLink recently posted a short video about homeschooling and the recent HSLDA National Leaders Conference. The
conference was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, although attendees
came from all over the nation and beyond. Several HEAV board members
were able to attend and get equipped and encouraged to better serve
you. This was also the conference Chris Klicka was attending when taken
to the hospital.

4) Parting Thought -
Truisms
I totally take back all those times I didn't want to
nap when I was younger.
I would rather try to carry ten plastic grocery bags in each hand than take two
trips to bring my groceries in.
Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is
absolutely petrifying.
Sometimes I'll look
down at my watch three consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

5)
Worth Repeating
"Our
true and genuine wisdom can be summed up as the knowledge of God and the
knowledge of ourselves."
- John
Calvin (1509-1564), Protestant theologian and reformer, in Institutes of the Christian Religion. If you would like to learn more
about Calvin's beliefs, check out the Christian History Institute website's article and discussion questions (at the
bottom).

6) Verse of the Week
That the
God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit
of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding
greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his
mighty power,
- Ephesians 1:17-19 (KJV)
