Dyslexia: How Do I Teach This Child?
If your child is struggling with reading or
writing and
you wonder if they might have dyslexia, check
out "Dyslexia:
How Do I Teach This Child?" by Dianne
Craft, a former homeschool mom
who teaches parents across the country how to
help
their children learn faster and easier by
using effective
therapies and strategies. After defining
dyslexia,
Dianne describes the symptoms and offers
ideas for
teaching reading in a "right-brain" way.
Check out Dianne Craft's six convention workshops, which include "Brain Re-training to Remove Learning Glitches," "Right-Brain Math," "IQ: Can It Be Changed?" and three others.

Help Still Needed!
As the convention approaches, things have been
getting very busy, and HEAV could use your
help!
Please ask the Lord if He would have you
minister to other homeschoolers by volunteering.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to serve
others--and
be blessed in the process! Many find the time
they
spend with HEAV helps them learn important
skills
and ministers to them in other areas.
We still need:
Help in the HEAV office - The Richmond
office
needs volunteers to come in one day a week
(any day
M-F) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help answer phone
calls and assist with convention registration
and other
simple office duties. Both moms and teens are
greatly
appreciated!
Convention Volunteers - As always, we need lots of help at the convention! Volunteers who help out two or more hours at convention get to shop first at the Used Curriculum Sale. Find out more on our convention volunteer page.
Volunteer Today!
Sign up to volunteer either before or during the
convention using the
Volunteer Checklist or by contacting
VolunteerNow@heav.org.
Due to the overwhelming response to the National
Bible Bee (10,000 contestants!), the deadline
for
enrolling has been extended to May 15, 2009.
To sign
up, see the website, find a local group,
contact them
to see if they have openings (even if it says
"Closed"),
and study! The study material is free and may be
downloaded and printed by anyone, registered
or not.
You may choose to buy it from them if you wish.

"In relation to the political
decontamination of our
public life, the government will embark upon a
systematic campaign to restore the nation's

these will be used as a means to this
