Identifying your teaching style and understanding your child's learning style can make a big difference in your homeschool learning environment.
Learning can become easier and more enjoyable if we understand some easy ways to modify our teaching methods to fit our child's learning style!
As parents, we naturally teach the way we learn. But suppose our children learn a different way? If this happens, these differences can create
challenges-for both students and parents!

We naturally teach by using visual, auditory, or hands-on methods of instruction-the way we learn. When we instruct one way and our children

Boy Scout Troop 1910 was founded in June 1998 and is sponsored by the
Lucketts Ruritan. They are part of the Goose Creek District, which is located within the National Capital Area Council.
The troop is very active and has one outdoor activity per month. Scouts participate in backwoods camping, hiking and backpacking activities
throughout the year. Additionally, they have one high-adventure outing for older Scouts and spend one week each summer at a BSA Scout Reservation.

Rick and Marilyn Boyer will present “The Hands-On Dad” (Rick) and “Getting It All Done” (Marilyn). The Boyers are nationally known homeschool
speakers and own the Learning Parent (www.thelearningparent.com), an online homeschool store that offers resources and curricula. They have
authored several books for home educators and many articles on Christian parenthood. As the parents of 14 children, all of whom were educated at
home, Marilyn is always appreciated for her keen and warm-hearted insight into child training. Her husband Rick, with his folksy, humorous style,
has been called the Will Rogers of the homeschool movement.
Childcare is available for children under the age of 10. All registrations for childcare must be received no later than September 7.
In order to provide adequate seating, please register in advance. Please provide your name, how many will be attending, and whether you will need
childcare. If childcare is needed, please include the ages of the children. A separate donation will be taken for those using the childcare
facilities.

Transcripts Made Easy will help in the transcript preparation process. If you have middle or high school students, this is the time to start
looking at how to design and formulate your student's academic record.
Come and learn about the three basic sections in a transcript, and how to collect and record information in a professional format. Whatever kind

homeschool students from the following cities and counties: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Gloucester,
Newport News, Hampton, York, Poquoson, Williamsburg-James City County, North Hampton, South Hampton, Franklin City, and Accomack County.

This program is designed to teach extensive sharpshooter training techniques. Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War
Soldier will host more than fifty costumed historians representing the men of Confederate Major General A.P. Hill's Third Corps. Volunteers from
The Princess Anne Grey's (Lee's Sharpshooters) will perform a variety of programs.
“Our members want to provide the public with a better understanding of Civil War battlefield tactics and the role of Southern Sharpshooters,” said
Mike Hendricks, president of The Princess Anne Grey's (Lee's Sharpshooters) and Captain of Company B, Chesapeake Volunteer Guards.
Visitors will participate in hands-on demonstrations as part of “The School of the Sharpshooter,” and Fred L. Ray, author of Shock Troops of the
Confederacy: The Sharpshooter Battalions of the Army of Northern Virginia, will also be present to give a 45-minute lecture about themes explored
in his new book about Confederate Sharpshooters. Visitors will be able to meet Ray and he will autograph copies of his work.

Boy Scout Troop 1910 was founded in June 1998 and is sponsored by the
Lucketts Ruritan. They are part of the Goose Creek District, which is located within the National Capital Area Council.
The troop is very active and has one outdoor activity per month. Scouts participate in backwoods camping, hiking and backpacking activities
throughout the year. Additionally, they have one high-adventure outing for older Scouts and spend one week each summer at a BSA Scout Reservation.

Rick and Marilyn Boyer will present “The Hands-On Dad” (Rick) and “Getting It All Done” (Marilyn). The Boyers are nationally known homeschool
speakers and own the Learning Parent (www.thelearningparent.com), an online homeschool store that offers resources and curricula. They have
authored several books for home educators and many articles on Christian parenthood. As the parents of 14 children, all of whom were educated at
home, Marilyn is always appreciated for her keen and warm-hearted insight into child training. Her husband Rick, with his folksy, humorous style,
has been called the Will Rogers of the homeschool movement.
Childcare is available for children under the age of 10. All registrations for childcare must be received no later than September 7.
In order to provide adequate seating, please register in advance. Please provide your name, how many will be attending, and whether you will need
childcare. If childcare is needed, please include the ages of the children. A separate donation will be taken for those using the childcare
facilities.

Transcripts Made Easy will help in the transcript preparation process. If you have middle or high school students, this is the time to start
looking at how to design and formulate your student's academic record.

Celebrate the Virginia Living Museum's 40th birthday with a series of free special programs on the first Thursday of every month in 2006.

This program is designed to teach extensive sharpshooter training techniques. Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War
Soldier will host more than fifty costumed historians representing the men of Confederate Major General A.P. Hill's Third Corps. Volunteers from
The Princess Anne Grey's (Lee's Sharpshooters) will perform a variety of programs.
“Our members want to provide the public with a better understanding of Civil War battlefield tactics and the role of Southern Sharpshooters,” said
Mike Hendricks, president of The Princess Anne Grey's (Lee's Sharpshooters) and Captain of Company B, Chesapeake Volunteer Guards.
Visitors will participate in hands-on demonstrations as part of “The School of the Sharpshooter,” and Fred L. Ray, author of Shock Troops of the
Confederacy: The Sharpshooter Battalions of the Army of Northern Virginia, will also be present to give a 45-minute lecture about themes explored
in his new book about Confederate Sharpshooters. Visitors will be able to meet Ray and he will autograph copies of his work.
