1.1 Generation
Joshua Book Club Online - Semester Begins in January
The new semester begins with January's selection, Quiet Strength: The Principles, Practices, and Priorities of a Winning Life by Tony Dungy. Teens (generally 11-19 years of age) or parents may join Generation Joshua for $10/year (HSLDA members) or $20/year (non-HSLDA members).
It has been said that readers are leaders, and leaders are readers. The "GenJ" Book Club helps prepare that next generation of leaders - young people who will be well-read on a variety of subjects such as leadership, politics, worldview, Christian discipleship, and other topics. Students may take part in chats, forums, and blogs. To receive proof of completion, students write a 500- to 750-word review of each book.
Parents looking for reading materials for their teens may also find the list of past books read by the book club useful.

spring 2008. You may view the first trailer and a short video clip
about its production on the website.
If you or any of your children are interested in film training or a filmmaking career, there's information on the site on how to participate in future AFG productions.
1.5 Homeschool
Crafters - Online Sales and Shopping - Fridays
On Fridays, you may advertise homemade crafts (including food items or items made from kits) on a Yahoo group centered in Hampton Roads. You need not be a resident, but you must join the group online (free, of course!). Arrangements for ordering, pick-up, payment, etc., are to be coordinated off-list.
If you are interested in participating in "Craft
Fair Fridays," set up your own photo album on the group website, or send a
link to your own website. Once you have the album set up, send a message to the
group letting them know what you are crafting.
If you would like to participate in seasonal craft fairs please let the
group owner know at Homeschooling_in_Hampton_Roads_For_Sale-owner@yahoogroups.com.
She may offer one in the early spring for Mother's Day.
