HOMESCHOOL DAY AT THE VIRGINIA AQUARIUM AND MARINE SCIENCE CENTER

An HEAV-Sponsored Event!
Location: 717 General Booth Boulevard, Virginia Beach
Date: Friday, January 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Special Homeschool Day Rate: $10/adult; $8/children (2-18 years old); children under 2 are FREE!
Pre-registration and Payment: Call Guest Services at 757-385-0300. Walk-ups are welcome.
Description: Enjoy the educational opportunities at the Bay & Ocean Pavilion and the Marsh Pavilion:

Wondrous Wetlands
View the wetlands and take part in the interactive stations located in the Bay and Ocean Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Marsh Animals
Enjoy live animal presentations at the Marsh Pavilion from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
IMAX Schedule and Fees
- 10:15 – Born to Be Wild
- 11:30 – Wild Ocean
- 12:45 – Born to Be Wild
- 2:00 – Wild Ocean

Aquarium + IMAX Fees: $14/adult; $12/children (2-18 years old); children under 2 are FREE!

HOMESCHOOL DAY AT NAUTICUS

An HEAV-Sponsored Event!
Location: 1 Waterside Drive, Norfolk, VA
Date: Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Special Homeschool Day Rate: $10/adult; $8/child (ages 4-17). Children 3 and under are FREE! Main deck and topside tours of Battleship Wisconsin may be purchased upon arrival. Main deck tours are an additional $3 per person; topside tours are an additional $18 per person.
Registration: Preregistration is not available. Your may purchase tickets upon arrival.
Description: Enjoy a fun-filled day at Nauticus featuring:
     * hands-on exhibits,
     * large screen HD movies, including the academy-award nominated Living Sea movie,
     * a shark tank, plus a touch tank featuring horseshoe crabs, sea stars, and more,
     * an introductory film and self-guided tour of Battleship Wisconsin,
     * educational programs offered throughout the day in the Nauticus Theater.

10:00 a.m. –5:00 p.m: Shark Experience
Come experience some cool facts about sharks while observing their behaviors.

10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Horseshoe Crab Cove
Kids of all ages love to admire and touch exotic sea creatures

11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Living Sea movie (Nauticus Theater)

12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Cool Science educational program (Nauticus Theater)

1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Creature Feature (Nauticus Theater)
Perfect for younger children, but all ages with love it! Meet one of Nauticus’ creatures!

2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Living Sea movie (Nauticus Theater)

3:00 – 3:30 p.m.: Battle Blast educational program (Nauticus Theater)

11:00 – 11:45am OR 2:00 – 2:45pm: Battleship Wisconsin main-deck guided tour
