Speaker Application Process

Thank you for your interest in speaking at the HEAV State Convention & Educational Fair. We are no longer taking speaker applications for the 2010 convention. However, we are accepting applications for the 2011 convention. Because of the number of inquiries we receive—and before your request can be considered—we ask that you please send our speaker committee the following information: 

  • Full contact info, including e-mail address, phone number, mailing address, and company name and website (if applicable)
  • Workshop titles and descriptions
  • Biography (50-150 words) and high-resolution (300 dpi) digital photo (for publicity purposes)
  • Requirements to attend
  • Current (less than one year old) hour-long audio recording (audio CD or downloadable MP3 format) of at least two sessions
  • References

Please note: No items will be returned to you.  

Our speaker committee will consider materials received by August 1 for the upcoming convention season. In order to review your request, we MUST have a complete packet of information—partial packets will not be reviewed.

Submissions received after August 1 will be considered for the following convention season. (For example, materials received by August 1, 2010, will be considered for the June 2011 convention. Materials received after August 1, 2011, would be considered for the June 2012 convention.)

Our speaker committee typically makes all speaker selections in the fall; if we are able to include your workshops for that year, we will contact you with contract details. Thank you again for your desire to serve the homeschool families of Virginia.
